This week’s #WCW goes out to Aussie beauty, Rose Byrne.
Rose kicked off her career on Australian TV, and moved to New York in 2007 to make a name for herself Stateside.
You’ve seen her on TV in Damages, she’s made you laugh in Bridesmaids, and last week her latest film This is Where I Leave You hit the big screens.
Rose is really having a moment right now, and has some big things coming her way. She makes her Broadway debut later this month in You Can’t Take it With You…and look out for her in the remake of everyone’s favorite musical, Annie, alongside her off-screen boyfriend, Bobby Cannavale.
We love her modern, feminine style - check her out in MILLY honeycomb mesh above!
This week’s WCW goes out to Emma Ferrer, the fresh-faced granddaughter of an all-time great, Audrey Hepburn.
You probably recognize Emma from the cover of the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar.
We were thrilled to have Emma sit front row at the MILLY Spring ‘15 Runway Show at NYFW - check out our front-row style reportto see what she was wearing!
An aspiring artist about to begin her third year at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy, Emma was born in Switzerland, and relocated to Los Angeles at the age of 2. At 14, Emma moved to Florence, Italy - a city bursting with culture, history, and an incredibly rich art scene.
We can’t wait to see what Emma does next - with plans to move to New York in the coming months as the Florence Academy of Art opens a campus Stateside, we know she is going to be on our radar!
This week’s #WCW is one of the greats…Sophia Loren; the embodiment of a mysterious, foreign beauty.
Beginning her career as a beauty queen at age 14, Sophia went on to dominate the film industry both in her native Italy and in the US. As the first person to win the Academy Award for best actress in a foreign language film for Two Women, Sophia was always destined for greatness. Although taking a step back from her acting career to focus on motherhood in the 70’s, Sophia continued to kill it in the film world – proving that women really can do it all. The release of her latest film, Human Voices, earlier this year has seen Sophia back on the festival circuit, and she is certainly not #sorryforpartying.
Sophia celebrates her 80th birthday this month, and is more fabulous than ever - and thats why our #WCW goes to her.
This week’s #WCW goes to the one and only, Beyoncé.
Referred to by the world as “Queen B”, Beyoncé lives up to her royal nickname. Born and raised in Houston, she performed in competitions as a child, but rose to fame as the lead singer of Destiny’s Child. She also played a part in the Grammy-award winning movie Dream Girls. Oh, and she’s released five albums, all having at least two songs hitting the top charts. Beyoncé never stops wow-ing the world. For example, when she dropped an entire album last year, or when she secretly released a song featuring Nicki Minaj last week. Another great thing about Beyoncé? She has a killer sense of style. Check her out in MILLY above~
So, Beyoncé, our #WCW goes to you. We admire you for your passion and intelligence, and your powerhouse vocals of course. Just keep doing whatever your doing, because its definitely working.

This week’s #WCW is a tribute to one of our fave style icons here at MILLY - Lauren Bacall, who passed away yesterday at the age of 89.
Bacall kicked off her career appearing in some of our favorite magazines, including Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue. Then at only 17, she made her acting debut on the Broadway stage, eventually winning two Tony Awards. Lauren was known for her signature pose, “the look”, and her incredible poise and grace. Her years as a model meant she had a keen appreciation for fashion, and was always incredibly stylish.
We will always remember Lauren for her talent, elegance and grace. So we toast our #WCW to Lauren Bacall, she will be greatly missed.
"I don’t do fashion. I am fashion." Spoken by a true fashion icon. You recognize the name. Who better to toast our #WCW than to a woman who started creating iconic clothing in 1910. She started out by selling her own custom hats, and then expanded into creating the iconic Chanel suit. It was a revolutionary idea at the time - taking inspiration from menswear for women’s clothing. But it paid off, Chanel has major fashion-respect today.
So we toast our #WCW to you, Coco Chanel - we celebrate your life everyday in the fashion world.
This week we’re giving our #WCW to one of fashion’s most influential icons - late Vogue editor-in-chief Diana Vreeland!
Diana Vreeland will forever be admired as one of fashion’s immeasurably influential icons. She began her days in fashion at Harpers Bazaar where her wild epigrammatic style came forth in her famous column “Why Don’t You…?” She later made her mark at Vogue where she worked as Editor and Chief and truly defined the role of a modern female fashion boss.
She was famous for her witty remarks and bold gestures, and pushed the creative expansion of the industry and told women to “never fear being vulgar, only boring.”
We toast our #WCW to you, Diana Vreeland, a true fashion inspiration.
We’d like to dedicate this weeks #WCW to one of the worlds most famous style icons: Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis - or as many know her, Jackie O.
Not only was Jackie O known for her grace, elegance and fashion sense, but she was also powerful and intelligent. The last two decades of her life she had a career as a book editor, and always strived to protect historic artifacts and the arts. She frequently hosted performances at the White House showcasing ballet, opera and other performing arts. Her Pink Chanel Suit and matching pillbox hat has become an iconic fashion ensemble, in addition to anything else she ever wore.
So we raise our #WCW glasses to you, Jackie O ! Thank you for inspiring the world.
Feeling Jackie’s pink? Well check out our MILLY Mika Dress! Plus, check out our other #WCW posts, like our birthday girl Gisele!
Happy #WomanCrushWednesday! In honor of our soon-to-be birthday girl, we’re giving our #WCW to the amazing Gisele Bündchen.
We admire the Brazilian beauty as she’s a woman of many talents: a supermodel, wife of Tom Brady, mother of two, actress (check her out in Taxi), philanthropist and current Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Program. She does what she wants, and won’t let anyone hold her back.
Oh and don’t let us forget, she was named 89th most powerful woman in the world according to Forbes. No big deal.
We’re not sure how she does it, but we want to thank our #WCW Gisele for not only being a supermodel, but a role model!

MILLY Beach Reads commence! Want to know the best way to pass your time at the beach? By indulging your mind.
This week’s read: #GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso.
We’re super into girl power here, our founder and designer Michelle Smith is an inspiration. That’s why we love this book. #GirlBoss is a look into the life of Sophia Amoruso, founder and CEO of Nasty Gal, the online clothing store. Fun fact we learned from the book? Nasty Gal started as an online eBay store where Sophia sold vintage clothing! The book is an unconventional rollercoaster ride through Sophia’s journey in the world of business. We highly recommend this book
Heres a quote:
"sometimes you break the rules, sometimes you follow them, but always on your own terms. You know where you’re going, but can’t do it without having some fun along the way. You take your life seriously, but you don’t take yourself too seriously. You’re going to take over the world, and change it in the process. You’re a badass." -Sophia Amoruso, #GirlBoss
Plus, while your reading #GirlBoss pool or ocean side, why not don a MILLY unique bikini to help out that summer bronze?
