Just a short stroll from downtown, White Elephantis on the top of our hotel list. With gorgeous views overlooking the harbor, you’ll never want to leave!
Where to Eat/Drink
Our favorite lunch spot is Cru. This cool restaurant has a beautiful view of the straight wharf dock that you can enjoy while watching boats go by. And after, make sure you grab a cone at The Juice Bar - Nantucket’s famous ice cream store.
Want something more casual? Make sure to visit Black-Eyed Susan’s. It’s a fun spot for the whole family (and BYOB). And if you’re feeling up to it, head to The Chicken Box - a bustlin’ nighttime hot spot filled with drinks, dancing and live music every night. Everyone has a story about a night at The Chicken Box…
What To Do
Take a walk around the Brandt Point Light House. It’sa signature landmark of Nantucket being the second oldest in the country. It’s the perfect spot for beach picnics (and MAJOR Instagram-bait).
Want to find out more about Nantucket’s history? Be sure to visit the Whaling Museum, where the tale of Moby Dick comes alive. Insider tip: Be sure to check out the harbor from the observation deck!
We hope you get to visit Nantucket this summer, it’s most definitely on our lists! Want more travel tips? Then make sure to check out our other MILLY Road Trip Series Posts, from Vail to Capri!
This is a very exciting development for designer and founder of MILLY Michelle Smith, and we’re super excited to share! Michelle has always been inspired by friends, family and exciting moments in her life. A few years ago, Michelle started to create her own gowns that she would wear to events around NYC. After constantly being asked where her gorgeous outfits came from, she decided to start an evening wear line. The dresses in this collection are elegant, sophisticated, luxurious and one of a kind.
Do your future self a huge favor and get them while they’re fresh, you don’t want to miss out.
This week we’re giving our #WCW to one of fashion’s most influential icons - late Vogue editor-in-chief Diana Vreeland!
Diana Vreeland will forever be admired as one of fashion’s immeasurably influential icons. She began her days in fashion at Harpers Bazaar where her wild epigrammatic style came forth in her famous column “Why Don’t You…?” She later made her mark at Vogue where she worked as Editor and Chief and truly defined the role of a modern female fashion boss.
She was famous for her witty remarks and bold gestures, and pushed the creative expansion of the industry and told women to “never fear being vulgar, only boring.”
We toast our #WCW to you, Diana Vreeland, a true fashion inspiration.
Shhhh.. we’re letting you in on our little secrets!
Since MILLY is based in NYC, we know those “staple” NYC summer activities. Smorgasbord, eating fro yo, going to flea markets… But everyone always seem to go to the same places!
So, we’re going to take you away from the norm and give you OUR checklist for the lesser-known places to do those classic summer activities, so check it out!
Eat an ice cream
We all scream for ice cream! So try out Lula’s Sweet Apothecary - its fun retro designed atmosphere and to-die-for ice cream (they do vegan and dairy-free options too!) Lulu’s Sweet Apothecary is our secret pick. We recommend the brownie sundae with gluten free brownies and hot fudge!

For those who have already gone to the Brooklyn Flea Market a dozen times, perhaps it’s time for you to head to a new set of vendors at Artist and Fleas, also located in Brooklyn. It features a lot of local artist’s work - check it out! Don’t forget the MILLY Avery Tote to carry all your findings!
What’s better than a lobster roll? A FOOTLONG lobster roll. Grab this classic summer sandwich at Cull & Pistol – they’re experts in serving out fresh, expertly and (ingeniously) prepared rolls.
Enjoy a margarita
The bigger the margarita the better, right? Well we found a 27-ounce margarita that is sure to knock you off your feet at Arriba Arriba located in Hell’s Kitchen. The “La Mama” is their biggest margarita coming in at $16 for frozen and $18 on the rocks…we’ll see you there in your rocking MILLY Sorry for Partying tee!
Dinner and Drinks
Move your bar scene to the water. One of our new favorite spots this summer is the North River Lobster Company, a boat bar and restaurant that takes you out for a 45-minute ride on the Hudson! We suggest checking out their raw bar and enjoy a fun drink out of one of their signature mason jars.
There you have it ! Get exploring.
While your at it, we have some travel tips if you want to try summer outside of NYC. Check out our MILLY Road Trip Series!

We’d like to dedicate this weeks #WCW to one of the worlds most famous style icons: Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis - or as many know her, Jackie O.
Not only was Jackie O known for her grace, elegance and fashion sense, but she was also powerful and intelligent. The last two decades of her life she had a career as a book editor, and always strived to protect historic artifacts and the arts. She frequently hosted performances at the White House showcasing ballet, opera and other performing arts. MILLY GOES TO ITALY…
MILLY designer and founder Michelle Smith tells us about her recent trip to the Amalfi Coast in Italy (Have you seen her gorgeous Instagram photos?), and gives us some tips on where to go and what to see! Check it out.
As a designer, I’m a visual person so I love traveling to picturesque places for inspiration and relaxation. Beach locations are my favorite, hence my passion for designing MILLY Cabana swimwear, but I also love to take in culture, so Italy has a special place in my heart. The Amalfi Coast is pure eye candy at every turn.
After a flight from New York and a ferry ride from Naples, my family and I pulled into Capri and were instantly blown away by the view. Traveling along the coast of the Mediterranean on the famously steep and narrow cliff-side road with many (scary!) twists and turns, there are spectacular views of cliffs dotted with picturesque villages and luscious green trees - Instagram bait galore!
We started off our days with a typical Italian breakfast - gorgeous fruit and pastries and a steaming cup of caffé e latte is my idea of perfection.Italians do love their coffee - they have it down to an artform.
We start our days off going for a swim, me in my favorite MILLY Lanai bikini and my daughter Sophia in her matching MILLY Minis swimsuit and hit the road to explore the coast.
We love checking out the scenic cliff-side villages - one favorite was the city of Ravello, filled with spectacular churches, gorgeous gardens and quiet, adorable streets. I am lucky enough to have the only children in the world who love to shop so we happily explored the streets.
The Gardens of Villa San Michele to take in the panoramic views of Capri as well as Mount Vesuvius and the Sorrentine Peninsula.
By midday, we’d be craving some water time! heading down to a hotel (I recommend the Hotel Santa Caterina) by the cliffs to take a refreshing swim in crisp blue water of the Mediterranean. Our boat trip in Capri was one of our favorite days of the trip.
Of course, no trip to Italy is complete without sampling endless amounts of gelato. We loved Buonocore Gelateria and visited several times…
Italian cuisine cannot be rivaled - we can highly recommend Terazza Tiberio, Dal Paolino and Il Geranio, lovely people and local specialties.
I included some of my Instagrams of the trip above—check them out!
