THROW THE ULTIMATE LABOR DAY BLOWOUT PARTY
As Labor Day approaches, let’s send it off in style with the best food, drinks and of course, clothes of the season. We’ve teamed up with our favorite food blog, The New Potato to show you how to make your party unforgettable. Take note!
MAKE A STATEMENT
First, you have to dress the part. Make a statement in our favorite summer blowout looks:
It’s your last chance to dazzle in white, so pair the MILLY Sleeveless Pocket Blouse + MILLY Katie 3/4 Skirt.
Craving color? The MILLY Bella Dressdemands attention. Get yours now!
Our favorite fashionable foodies, Danielle and Laura Kosann of The New Potato curated a menu to highlight the best of summer and simultaneously knock your guests socks off:
Mango Tomatillo Guacamole
Grilled Oysters with Garlic Herb Butter
The Empire Diner’s “Secret” Turkey Burger
(with Green Goddess dressing, OMG)
Sugar Snap Pea and Radish Salad
A sweet and peppery combination that adds color to the table
Grilled Hearts of Romaine with Yogurt Dill Dressing
Charred lettuces give an unexpected twist to the summer salad
Whip up some mini madeleines from the Dominque Ansel Bakery’s arsenal (he invented cronuts!) for your guests to take with you when they leave
Danielle and Laura suggest a tequila theme throughout, giving us two options:
"We suggest either a delicious concoction with George Clooney’s tequila - Casamigos - called Su Casa (a creation from the toxic soon-to-not-be-a-bachelor himself)…”
"Or an original margarita from chef Amanda Freitag that mixes it up with a strawberry basil base. Make sure to have wine and other options out though for guests that may not love tequila!”
GET THE WORD OUT
We scoured our Paperless Post for the best of the season and curated our favorites so you don’t have to:
This “Get Your Tan On" invite screams fun, while the "Postiano" invite speaks to the stylish set, the Marina invite is all about classic summer motifs.
Dancing? We love Flume, Iggy Azalea, and anything mixed by Kygo. For a bit of everything, check out the Perfect Pool Party Playlist on Spotify.
Chilled out? The New Potato suggests a “mix of bossa nova, french pop, soul and samba - perfect for entertaining.”
Say Danielle and Laura: "A clean white theme in the summer with pops of bright color - try some fresh-picked flowers in little mason jars around the table, vintage glasses, or playful accents in your dishware. Once it gets dark, it’s nice to have candles lit and dispersed along the table."
Don’t forget to grab a few of the MILLY Sorry For Partying Tees to give to your guests, and you’ll definitely need a MILLY Unique Bikini in case it turns into a pool party!
