ASK MICHELLE: MILLY SPRING ‘15 COLLECTION
The MILLY Spring ‘15 Collection was revealed yesterday at NYFW.
WATCH THE SHOW NOW!
We asked MILLY Designer + Founder Michelle Smith to give us an insight into the collection and what it was inspired by.
Q: What inspired the Spring ‘15 collection?
A: I was inspired by the bold conceptual art of John Baldessari and Dan Graham.
Q: Tell us about the fabrics:
A: I constructed a collection of ultra-luxurious three dimensional fabric and sculptural silhouettes. I layered rich textures with cascades of mesh, layers of illusion filament jacquard and raffia organza.
Q: What was the inspiration behind the color palette?
A: The collection, grounded in black and white, features kinetic bursts of saturated color, Cobalt, poppy, yellow and mint echo the palette favored by Baldessari.

Take a look inside Michelle’s sketch book for more Behind the Scenes insight to the show.
